19th Sept. @ Melbourne Recital Centre new work for orchestra premiered
The premiere of Quelques Cercles for orchestra went really well at the Melbourne Recital Centre. Conductor Michael Thomas did a great job preparing the orchestra for the night which also included works by Bartok and de Falla.

The Bach/Lyons Project will meet for a week of development and recording 1-8th December in Copenhagen.
Australian cellist Lachlan Dent features a solo cello work by Anthony Lyons during a program of solo cello works by Australian and Malaysian composers.
Very excited to be in residence again at the inspiring La Muse in Labastide-Esparbairenque, France from the 9-30th November. Looking forward to some focussed time on writing, doing workshops and preparing material for the upcoming Bach/Lyons Project rendez-vous in December.
The first of four concerts as part of the ASTRA Spring Piano Plus Series at the Eleventh Hour in Fitzroy, Melbourne. This first concert is by pianist Sonya Lifschitz and will feature new works by Anthony Lyons.
Anthony will be playing guitar/electronics with osh10 in September (7th-17th), for a tour of Japan. Starting with performances in Tokyo, shows have also been announced for Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka. More details to follow...

I'm very excited to be joining osh10 for a series of performances in Japan in August! I was involved in writing some of the string arrangements for the recently released osh10 album One hundred to the ground. This is a fantastic album (being launched at The Toff in Melbourne on the 19th July). For the tour of Japan I'll be pulling out my electric guitar and pedals - fun! Pure Poetry is a celebration of the Australian voice in poetry and music. The 2011 program will present the work of six emerging poets alongside new commissions by award-winning Victorian composers and poets.
