It was a fascinating experience sampling some of Percy Grainger’s instruments recently. Grainger’s ‘Butterfly Piano’ was originally tuned by him with notes a 6th of a tone apart - the tuning has slipped a little from that now! Some of the samples from this session will go towards a sound sculpture installation with Paul Fletcher for Nite Art 2017 at the Grainger Museum, Melbourne on the 27th July, 6pm-10pm.
